On Friday, July 24, Coolidge House hosted it’s 2nd Annual Employment Fair. The event was held at Whittier Street Health Center and was open to the public as well as attendees with state or federal convictions.

The turnout was excellent as over 100 people attended. Coolidge House welcomed community partners and employes such as Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission, Haley House, STRIVE, Project Place, Ne-Cafe, Pine Street Inn, and Express Employment Professionals. Newcomers at the event were Heavy Weight Security, UPS, Wegmans, Boston Career Link, SPAN, and All Time Inc.

To promote this event, Coolidge House staff reached out to the US Federal Probation Office, Massachusetts State Probation, Massachusetts State Parole, and Suffolk County House of Corrections. Attendees were able to network with each employer and obtain information regarding various job opportunities.

This event would not be possible without the ongoing efforts of Coolidge House staff Alana Flood, Janaya Pierre-Mike and Gianna Franco. We would like to thank our colleagues at Coolidge House who volunteered on the day of the event, Tykeida Montgomery, Michael Peccerilli, Olivia Nambi, Arleen Maberry and Edina Bakkal, and a very special thank you to Kenya Madry for all of her hard work and dedication prior to the event.

We would also like to thank iCims for their generous donation to help fund the job fair. Last but not least, we would like to thank Whittier Street Health Center for the use of their facilities and ongoing collaboration with this event.
