During the months of November and part of December CRJ/Community Strategies in Massachusetts held a toy drive. On December 19th, 2013 two very large bins of toys was delivered to the “Why Me” Sherry House in Worcester, MA.

During this collection time several individuals that live within CS homes also donated toys and cash. Sherry’s House provides no cost eight bedroom lodging for child cancer patients, their families and caregivers, throughout the cancer treatment process. Families whose child is receiving their treatment at any Massachusetts hospital come from all over the United States, as well as, Puerto Rico & Canada to stay at Sherry’s House. Janet Kachadoorian, Assistant Director for Community Strategies in MA, was able to receive a tour of the house and meet some incredible people with big hearts.

In a follow-up thank you letter, Cheryl Vaugh, Sherry House Coordinator wrote:

This past year, Why Me celebrated 27 years of providing love and support for families battling childhood cancer. This milestone is celebrated every day that we continue to offer our services through the generosity of our supporters, donors, friends, and neighbors.I want to thank you for your donation of toys.
