ACTIVELife's own Patrick M. of Keene was honored to carry the torch into the opening ceremony of the 2014 New Hampshire State Special Olympics Summer Games.

This was the first time an athlete from Keene was chosen to represent the Special Olympics athletes in the final steps of the Flame of Hope journey.

“It was so cool to be a part of the opening ceremony and run with local law enforcement”, said Patrick.

“I thought of my family, friends at ACTIVELife, and my teammates.” During the games Patrick M. competed in  shot put and 100-meter run, but it was the run into the opening ceremony and carrying the torch of Special Olympics that highlighted Patrick’s day.
