Tort Study Shows Facts |
|
8--10--1998
According to U.S. News & World Report, a Harvard Law School study for the past decade shows that lawyers get the bulk of torts award money. This isn't news to those familiar with the twisted American tort scene; it has long been known that the sharks get the mass of the spoils. But it's interesting that one of the nation's leading law schools actually studied and confirmed the facts.
The study report also indicated that while only 1 in 8 of malpractice victims ever sues, most of them never see any actual award money. Yet the suits continually add to the burdensome costs of professional fees and services - for which we all pay.
Not only do we allow lawyers to drive, dominate, and collect most of the money in our crazy liability atmosphere, we actually treat them like paid raiders, allowing them to sponsor, fund, and then loot and pillage from their ill-gotten gains. Isn't it time that all Americans stood up and demanded change?
