FEDERAL JUDGE HITS FOUL BALL |
|
3--3--2002
California legislators passed a sensible piece of legislation a few years back, one that precluded criminals from profiting by their misdeeds and criminal actions. The law provided that murders or rapists, for instance, could not subsequently collect money from a book or from selling movie rights to their criminal stories and become rich after committing evils - based on and as a result of those evils.
Then along comes some pea-brained federal jurist who declares that the law is "unconstitutional," however that is interpreted by this non-elected, lifetime-appointed judicial fool.
Next thing we know, some jurist idiot will proclaim that punishment of criminals is itself unconstitutional. After all, if the Constitution allows them to profit from crime, then how could it preclude them from enjoying the spoils by incarceration?
At times it seriously appears that some judges obtained brains from the wizard of oz.
