The local sheriff in Boulder, Colorado went to court in an attempt to keep mad dog plaintiffs' attorneys at bay until a decision is rendered as to whether the department can even be sued over the Columbine shooting rampage. The sheriff and his deputies don't want hungry attorneys probing and searching if the peace officers are immune from suit. Why give the mad dogs any info if you are hoping not to be hauled into court?

As lawsuit insanity continues unabated, Americans suffer from a unique form of madness. Nowhere else does such craziness persist. America is a nation of wimps, whiners, and excuse-makers. And our lawyers have led the drive to make us so.

Anytime anything bad or sad occurs, there must be someone to blame, and a deep pocket must somehow be located, no matter what ridiculous lengths must be resorted to or what absurd logic must be invoked in order to make it so. No sooner does any conceivable sorrow, hurt, or wrong occur than hoardes of plaintiffs' lawyers crawl from the woodwork like a swarm of cockroaches.

It is a system of legalized mayhem, created by the lawyers, of the lawyers, and for the lawyers. It has only one true goal: to make lawyers rich. When will the citizens of this nation step up and call a halt?
